When at the height of my career, enjoying excellent health, great friends, colleagues, family, etc., why would I want to stop the merry-go-round and deliberate on what my life might be like twenty, thirty years in the future? During a recent radio interview, I was asked, during my heyday, did I ever stand back and appraise the success I was having and think about how lucky I was. At the time, I was too busy writing more songs and thinking about the next hit to stop and contemplate my present situation. Now, many years later, I look back and think, wow! What a fantastic time that was. That was my moment, my golden period in life when I had all my success. What I’d give to repeat that success!
I watch negative news and think about what is really important. I contemplate unfair parallels in life, and that keep things in perspective for me. We have a TV interviewer earning multimillion dollars for a TV company. Her guests live in a multimillion-dollar mansion, with multimillion-dollar deals with Spotify and Netflix, complaining about distasteful remarks made to them and how living in the spotlight gives them mental trauma. At the same time, the show they are on goes out to seventy countries around the world.
The Reservoir of latent Intelligence Did you know there exists a reservoir of latent intelligence (God’s light) thriving on the fringes of the universe? You and I were created out of pure essence. Did you know there exists a reservoir of latent intelligence (God’s light) thriving on the fringes of the universe? You and I were created out of pure essence. The second before our creation, we were non-existent, and then, boom …we lived. Leonardo De Vinci, Albert Einstein, Vincent Van Goth, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, plucked their beautiful ideas for inventions from this inexhaustible untouched energy source.
The other day I heard a woman remark, ‘What is the use of putting makeup on? No one is going to see me.’ When you feel depressed, the last thing on your mind is re-evaluating the way you look. You can’t be bothered to get out of bed, let alone shower, style your hair, and dress in the way you would if you were going to an evening ball. However, I am going to motivate you to do just that.
Should I get out of bed today or lie here with the pillow over my head? Dare I turn on the news to discover the next stage of terror to face me? Can I look at my children in the eye and make myself appear normal? What is the best way to tell my children grandma had disappeared from the face of the planet? These thoughts are all too familiar in the world in which we are surviving today.
The moon, brightly lit in her full roundness, offers a shroud of mystery that has fascinated Man since His earliest origins. A planet that is dead and barren, with a history steeped in lifeless ignorance, has so much sway on the activity of her nearest neighbour, planet Earth.
Do you ever feel blessed, lucky to be alive? Most of us at some time in our life have wondered – how in God’s name did I get away with that. A miraculous escape can be viewed from many angles. My mother abandoned me when I was a baby. I could look back at that with a ‘poor me’ attitude. However, I have learned from confidential files that had I lived with my mother and her husband; I would have lived a miserable life. I passionately believe, with all my heart, my Guardian Angel was watching over me.
